A few weeks ago, I found a tweet from the Washington Post asking Asian Americans to share their stories about Asian food that brings them comfort in honor of AAPI Heritage Month. To my delight and surprise, they chose a small excerpt from my ramblings about kimchi.

Fun Fact: After this story was published, I found out that I share a mutual friend with one of the authors, Marian Liu. I met our mutual friend (Shruti) in Dresden when we were both shopping at a quaint new American - British food store. She and her husband (Ravi) were also new to Dresden after having moved there from Minnesota to work at the Max Planck Institute. They appreciated classical music and attended my performances at the Semperoper. What a small little world!
